I get these calls and emails from salespeople who don't realize I'm not their target audience 99.9% of the time.
I do a good deal of research prior to calling clients. How about you?

I hit their webpage, find the contact I need (if it is there) check their address, and see if they have multiple offices. Then I go to the About and read one sentence. Then I call.....that takes two minutes.

- LinkedIn to see whether they're still in the role I think they're in, and to see if they add any color about their responsiblities.
- Here, to get contact information.
- Occasionally, a quick Google News search to see if they've been mentioned recently.
- Notes from other calls within the organization.
For Federal prospects, I'll usually check the agency's website or GovWin / Bloomberg / SmartProcure / etc. as well.

I like to Google the prospect's name and company and try to read up on any recent articles published and use it as an ice breaker. LinkedIn is very helpful as well I agree.
