Well, Data.com support is not answering. Help would be welcome and appreciated.
I create perhaps 100 CSV files every day - the format is not a stranger to me.
I have a file, about 600K in size, with one column and a header of "email"
In the file are a few thousand email addresses.
I have created variants of the file in Excel CSV, Notepad with a CSV suffix and VI.
All are simple text files in pure CSV format. I have even used the "od" command to see if there are any illegal characters.
But the file will not upload. Support will not answer. (They send an acknowledgement from a "NO REPLY" address - complete with ticket number, but "no reply" - how helpful.
See error in attached screenshot.

I actually deleted my prior suppression file before I tried to upload my new file.
First, I really appreciate your response - it is lonely trying to talk to support (the email address is still "@jigsaw.com" :-) And your suggestion makes sense. I have attached both the error screen and my type of account in the PDF on this message.
So, "Yes" over th past 14 years, I have probably uploaded a few hundred suppression files.
If my account does not allow such an upload, I would expect to get a far different message. I do have a "Connect Plus Plan" (see attached PDF).
The message I am getting simply complains about my file format. And, as someone who creates many CSV files per day, I know there can be some encoding issues. I have tried to upload \r\n terminated lines (DOS) \r terminated lines (Windows95) \n terminated lines (UNIX). ASCII, UTF-8, etc. All to no avail.
I have created many variants of legal CSV files. All are getting the message. I have changed the suffix from .csv to .CSV etc.
This is not my first rodeo.
