I forgot my password

Today I had trouble getting into Jigsaw because I forgot my password. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to reset it, so I decided to share my experience for the rest of you.

Go ahead and click on Log in, then below the password box is a link that says “forgot password”.

Click the link and enter the email address that is on your account. You’ll be sent a password reset email.

Enter your new password twice and you should be good to go.

Re: I forgot my password

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think other users will find it very helpful! By the way Jigsaw users, Jigsaw recently changed our password requirements. Members selecting a new password will need:

•         A minimum of 8 characters
•         At least one number (0-9)
•         At least one UPPERCASE letter
•         At least one lowercase letter
•         At least one special character (!@#$%^&*(),)
•         Password must not match the non-domain portion of the email address

Re: I forgot my password

Because of my position, I feel obligated to comment on this.... I think the new requirements (which do not affect existing passwords) are a bit too strong. My personal recommendations are to change the following:

drop min to 6 characters (currently 8)

eliminate required symbol

While the current requirements are top-notch secure (to civilian standards), they require a hard-to-remember password, which can decrease customer satisfaction with the large number of failed attempts, locked out accounts, resetting passwords, etc. etc.

By the new (current) requirements, my required password on Jigsaw is more demanding than my Financial Institutions secure site.... but I guess who am I to determine which is more important to protect:smileysurprised:... your personal finances or your business leads.... That's more of a Forum topic I think I'll start.... Which is more important to you and which would be easier to repair/replace if it became lost or stolen.... I think the results would favor the business side because without work, you've got family problems.....  Next week on Springer...

Re: I forgot my password

Hi everyone! As of last Friday, we have lowered the password requirements to:

  • At least 8 characters
  • 1 letter
  • 1 number

Thank you for letting us know how much this affected your user experience. Your feeback is always helpful, so always feel free to express your thoughts here!

I changed my email address in my settings but not my password, and now nothing will work, i.e. old email adress or new address.  I tap the forgot password, and all it does is stay at the login page.

Please help so I can use my account.

Thanks for your post ZimmermanL. I can verify you successfully changed your email address. Sometimes the settings in your browser will remember the old information and therefore it will not allow you to log in with new information. Please clear your cache and cookies and this should remedy the issue. Also you can always test if you are able to log in with a different browser, if this works, it will verify the issue is with cookies and cache on the old browser.
