I uploaded 2000+ contacts and only got credit for a portion of them. I thought many were duplicates. But I now often see companies in my database that are missing contacts that I know I submitted. Is there a limit on how many you get credit for at one time, or what gives?

Hi WorldWatcher,
Please remember that there are several factors that are taken into consideration when uploading bulk files of contacts, and there are valid reasons why you may not have received the amount of points you were expecting. Here are the primary reasons: 1) If the contact already exists in Jigsaw it won't accept it, 2) if any necessary info is missing for the contact it won't be accepted (ie. you upload a contact but you don't have a last name included), and 3) if the company doesn't exist in Jigsaw it won't be accepted. In regards to this last issue, a company may be in the database, but if it owns several domains and the email you are trying to add uses a domain that isn't attached to the company listing, the contact won't be accepted.
You can send your file of contacts to support@jigsaw.com and they can upload it for you, that way you can be provided with a breakdown of what contacts were accepted and which ones were not, with a reason why. I hope this helps you out.

To add on to what BOSS_LADiEE said, when you upload your contacts to the contact queue (the holding area they'll go to before you submit them), each contact will have an icon next to it telling you whether the contact will be accepted or why it wouldn't be. Here are they symbols you'll see:
- 5: This contact can be submitted for 5 points
- 10: This contact can be submitted, but you'll first need to add the company, so you have an opportunity to earn 5 points.
- IN: The contact is already in Jigsaw, so it can't be submitted again.
- No symbol: This contact can't be added to Jigsaw either because the person has asked not to be in Jigsaw or it's from a banned domain, such as hotmail.com or yahoo.com
- /: This contact is missing some of the required information, so it can be submitted for partial credit. 20 partial records = 1 point.

I uploaded 92 contacts in the format requested in an Excel file. Non were accepted. What is wrong with my file? I cannot believe all these contacts are already in the data base.

Hi CurlyPool87,
Thanks for your post! It's always great to see a new face in the community. I looked at the contacts in your contact queue, and there were some that have asked not to be listed in Jigsaw (they show the "no" symbol), but for the most part they are already listed in Jigsaw. One way you could earn points would be to check your version against what Jigsaw has and update any where your information is more current & accurate. Be sure to come back to the Corner if you have any other questions!
Best Regards,

What an absolute ripoff. I was given ANY credit for 3 updated contacts & it was not posted to my account. I was suppose to receive 15 points.
This site is an absolute joke.
On top of that where the heck is the online support? Totally unprofessional site.

Hi the_kid,
I'm sorry that you're so frustrated, and I'd be happy to help. I looked at your account, and I don't see any contacts that you have updated recently, but I do see that just over 2 weeks ago you added 3 wikis (company descriptions). We are currently experiencing an error on our site that is causing the points for company wikis not to be credited. We have identified the cause of this problem and are working on implementing a fix, which will of course include crediting you the points that you have earned.
Best Regards,
