How to Use Jigsaw

Good afternoon,  When trying to add a NASA contractor that has an @nasa.gov e-mail address it shows the company as NASA. Is it possible to change the company to the correct company name?  There are thousands of contractors with @nasa.gov e-mail.  (Wonder if that is true for other government organizations with contractors in their facilities?)  Thanks!

The database is structured to work based on email URL.  A contractor is not really an employee of NASA.  While the emails may be valid and allowed to stay in the database (some of us disagree on this), based on past debate on this subject, Jigsaw is not going to add a second category to denote someone is a contractor and for what company.  The same debate holds on hotel or fast food franchises where the employees work for the franchisee not the franchisor.  On another note, students, alumni, association members, regligious organization members, etc... are also not allowed because they are not employees and their connection to the organization is personal not professional -- they dont work for the organization.  Similar problem -- they dont work for the company, but another side of the debate...

The Company Name should always remain the name of who owns the url. In this case, nasa.gov, is owned by NASA. It should never be changed to anything but NASA, unless the Federal gov't decides to sell it to China. Yes, that was a political cheap shot, meant as humor, in an attempt to collect kudos.

I'm predicting that after the world collapses tomorrow (Mayan Calendar), Jigsaw kudos will replace the gold standard.

Answers below deal with changing NASA - don't do that...in this case

But what I think you're asking is based on the fact many contractors who @ NASA ALSO (or actually) work for a consulting firm to NASA. And though they may have a NASA based email address, they probably also have an email address for a company contracting with NASA. And could be the reason you asked this question.

If you know the company name of NASA contractor for a contact, email address, title...then take url of that company, look them up here. If in Jigsaw, then enter a new contact and it will be valid in addition to the NASA address....for now. Both are good today, the one you enter probably better for the longer term and we all thank you.
