I would tell them it's a hard industry, cut throat, a lot of energy needed, choose a good industry you have to have to have to repeat have to have thick skin ,etc.
What advice would you give?

My advice for a college student asking for advice on a sales career would be this: get a degree with some technical aptitude (engineering, IT or IS) so that you will be paid more and have more bigger opportunities than someone who has to work in a call center all their life.

I noticed this older post. I've been talking to college students mostly female about sales and giving them advice. I tell them try and sell where the competition is less and you have an advantage so not like Avon or health care as many do that already. So being biased I told them to sell tech. I'm trying to get one to sell for my business.
